Anthros was a tremendous success. Way more folks than excepted, since we open at 12 until closing at 6 pm, the flux of folks was non-stop. The vendors were happy, the artists were happy and everyone on the staff we are excendly happy that we all make it happen. The community needed some gathering and celebration like this, and my deepest wish is that keep happening, not only on Anthros but that this could be inspiration for others to keep bringing community and art together.

i need to pinch myself sometimes to remember that these beautiful projects are actually happening. not too long ago, thinking about community: about feeling like an active part of one, about meeting other folks like me, that are also different from me, but we can gather, share moments, care for each other, get deep into interesting topics, make noises like animals anywhere, share a passion and appreciation for the anthropomorphic arts… It feels like such a Cruising Utopia moment that i don’t want to treat it lightly. I want to hold this space in time for deeply appreciating it.

especially during the cold days of winter coming in a couple of months, when sadness creeps in, or in those moments of feeling alone, or like everything i’m feeling and going through is only happening to me… (which is such an absurd feeling, bc as humans we tend to feel such similar things, like there’s this shared human experience, y estamos todes en este barco).

Also last week we went for a visit to the MoMa with Seezy and ended up walking from midtown up to downtown Brooklyn. The over 6 miles of walking were so refreshing, but also reflective for me.

The lights on for the twin towers reinforce the feeling of grieving, a process I’ve been going thought this last week or so, on some processing from old feeling, stages, and some folks on my life I still miss. Grieving is such a interesting, weird, complex, and personal process. I’m approaching it with tremendous amount of curiosity, of care, of going really slow.

Yesterday we went with a group of friends to the NY Renaissance Fair. It was a lot of fun to feel I was back in 15th century Europe playing, as usually comes to me, the jester role. It was rainy at the morning, in such a way that felt a great cleaning refresh of the summer ending, and already start feeling like fall. I really like the transition of seasons. It’s a great moment of reflect on the season that is leaving, the learnings, the take away, the joyful moments, the holding space for appreciation, and move into the new one.

Ok, now… time to go organize the house. It’s a mess since the non-stop week I had and the rest of the weeks doesn’t seems to be slower.

Changes on the garden:

  • Added the offerings (work with me) note with all possible ways at the moment to work with me
  • Weekly traces now is called traces, so it’s more lose on the moments, and allow to other formats at well.
